Kingdoms in Africa are among the oldest political institutions in the world. These kingdoms emerged in Africa long time ago. The oldest kingdoms were those beside the Nile Delta area and northern Nile.
They emerged around 3400 BC and developed into Pharaohs of Egypt. This notion that kingdoms in Africa begins in Egypt was generally accepted today. In those days Carmel was the beast of burden used for transportation by the rich.
Later people (including the Yorubas) migrated to different parts of Africa from different parts of the world. The Yorubas remain among the largest ethnic group in Nigeria.
